I have in fact published a post about shooting point and shoot cameras in low light using the same Christmas Fayre for example images — have a read here. Upset kodak doesnt have a though. It has many fewer features than the Nikon, is probably smaller, and there is very good glass is available for a reasonable price. I am pretty sure I too would enjoy shooting an M3 more than a camera like this one, or pretty much any camera that I own!

I know how to expose properly in this sort of light without a meter and — at least with the flexibility of my chosen negative porhra — I rarely kodam it up. What I should have done — and actually porgra after shooting a good few frames — was set the camera to manual and make use of my own brain and not the cameras brain. Portra is very well-suited to photographing moving subjects and working in low-light conditions while maintaining true color reproduction.

I shot it at the suggested box speed, ISO, and it is so exceptionally grainy and saturated the best of the shots were reminiscent of little pointillist tableau. Of course, it was only after I got home did I realise I could turn the AF assist light off via the custom menu…. The indoor clearness and color developed extremely well. It behaves more like a colour motion picture film than I expected and I would be very happy to shoot it almost exclusively for my admittedly limited portrs time photography from here on in.

The image looks gorgeous and this was shot in the format. For me, Hong Kong is a bit like home. Even the lens feels horrible to use as a 8000 focus lens…. I recently switched to a Macbook Pro and noticed so many problems with videos playing, images showing and websites loading properly. All posts from the project can be found here.

In her infinite wisdom, Aislinn suggested I make it a three-way shoot out by adding a roll of Fuji Natura to the mix. It goes great in natural light and renders a whole lot of details. But anyway, more on that another time….
I recommend photographers use this film in daylight balanced conditions, perhaps using window lighting when indoors plrtra outdoors when the sun is setting.
