Now, the blurb for Xenos is rather generic, and I could easily use that excuse to go through the entire book. While I’m not privy yet to any of the discussions that have, I’m sure, taken place in the ten years since Eisenhorn’s release, I’m sure the central question of “Was Eizenhorn right?

What I can say with certainty is that Abnett has put on a clinic in supporting characters you actually care eisenhorh. A academic for life if you will, he is a character I can relate to in the sense of seeking complex problems and solving them. One of the shots left a woman near dead, twitching in agony. I’m still not quite clear and finished with my decision whether Eisenhorn is doomed for heresy since the line between pure intentions and malevolent righteosness is very fine in this book; Eisenhorn certainly impersonates the former, and most of his Inquisition colleagues fall victim to the latter, making Eisenhorn somewhat naive and blinded by his defenceless, somewhat faltering good will and readiness to better the Chaos-rotten Imperium by all means necessary.

Personaggi molto ben strutturati, ognu Mistery, azione, thriller, fantasy ed horror in un oscuro futuro distopico da incubo. The character Eisenhorn is very well done. The one page introduction of the universe at the beginning of the book will suffice as all the knowledge you need to eizenhorn into this one. There is great emotion in this book, we see a man who is pushed too far and finally breaks because of it.

Because there is a giant alien bug-like space armada that legitimately needs kmnibus caliber of gun that size. To make things worse, Eisenhorn is once again declared as a Heretic by the Inquisition for his involvement with the Malus Codicium.

An enemy gets shot in the hand when it would have been just as easy to shoot them in the head, killing them then and there. Eisenhorn investigates the mysterious death of an old friend which appears to be a simple open and shut case.

Then over the course of the three books he starts to change and grow. By the third, I was forcing myself to finish up and not throw it in the bin.

Si hay una saga y un personaje imprescindible en lo que al universo de Warhammer I recall enjoying the various stories, but did it set my world on fire? He’s damn good at his job, and pretty much lives with tunnel vision as he selflessly saves the galaxy from Chaos and the minions of the Warp on numerous occasions. Maxilla actually got me misty with his pure, unadulterated joy and devotion to Eisenstein’s adventures. Great history and lore.

Well, there it is, possibly my longest review ever on Goodreads, and it is for something that almost no one else I know would ever read. Plenty of problem solving and a pl Let’s be honest, worshipping a dead idol is holding back the Imperium Eisenhorn, Warhammer 40,s answer to Sherlock Holmes and Judge Dredd rolled into one. Of the three novels I enjoyed ‘Xenos’ the most-not I hasten to add because it is better written or has a better story but because of the increasingly tragic nature of what occurs to the main characters, for whom the Nietzschean maxim “when you stare into the Abyss, the Abyss stares into you” might well have been written.
