I’m using MS Access on Windows 7 64 bit.
You cannot link a 32 bit application to a 64 bit ODBC driver so you have no choice if your app is 32 bit.
MySQL :: 32bit ODBC driver on Windows 7 64bit not accessible
You can determine which version of MS Windows you are running 32bit or 64bit 32 bit mysql odbc “System” in the “Control Panel”. Install the 32 bit driver and preferably disable the 64 bit driver, to avoid 32 bit mysql odbc of driver versions in the future. If you are using MS Office or later, you may determine the release by clicking the menu “File”, then “Help”:. So I am not sure if it is totally evident that the your connector’s bits have to match your connecting application’s.

If you could just answer my question in a “positive” and straight forward manner – that would be awesome! In order to use Microsoft Access with an 32 bit mysql odbc driver, both software must run in a 32bit or both in a 64bit mode, if you end up with Office 64bit and the ODBC driver 32bit or vice versa they will simply don’t “see” each other.
MySQL Connector/ODBC 3.51
Database Module – Setup. Both version are freely available from the MySql website.
32 bit mysql odbc no idea what you mean by “register span”. Do not use this tool to configure DSNs for Switch. Even while running Switch on a 64 bit operating system, only 32 bit ODBC drivers can be used, as Switch is currently a 32 bit process.
Windows 7 32 bit mysql odbc can handle both 32bit and 64bit ODBC connectors different data source managers though. If 32 bit mysql odbc have installed the 64 bit ODBC odvc, then in the 64 bit version of the tool you will see the 64 bit driver and you will be able to configure DSNs for that driver.
How to download Windows 10 MySQL ODBC driver and configure it
Whether the 32 bit ODBC driver talks to the 64 bit mysql is another. If you install only the 32 bit ODBC 32 bit mysql odbc and then launch the 64 bit version of the tool, you will not be able to configure any DSNs, because the 64 bit version of the tool does not show the 32 bit ODBC drivers. If you run a 32bit version of Windows you don’t have any problem, as it can only run 32bit software and both MS Office and the ODBC driver are for sure 32bit executables.
